memory lane and construction sites

Back in Brooklyn I used to sleep in peace
on my soft, comfy, brown leather couch seat.
I'd wake up only to hear the birds tweet,
or a rare passing car blasting a radio beat.
One day we moved from Shore Road to John Street
we left a world of trees and entered a land filled with concrete.
The Fulton Street Transit Center is still incomplete
and the sound of jackhammers is not something sweet.
I wish they could be a bit more discrete
so I could finally get some much needed sleep.

Thanks for visiting :)
